Two men returning from work robbed in Udupi; Four arrested

Udupi: A gang of robbers attacked two men on their way home in Udupi. The police have arrested four members.
The arrested accused have been identified as Zakriya, Razeem, Khalid and Rehman.
The accused allegedly kidnapped the duo and demanded Rs 2 lakh from them. The victims were students of Udupi Nursing college.
The incident occurred when the complainant was returning home along with his friend at midnight. The duo apparently stopped a car near Kalsanka Junction and asked for a lift.
However, the duo noticed a weird smell inside the car and refused to sit in the vehicle. One of the accused threatened them with a knife and kidnapped them.
The accused then took them to the Doddannagudde park, assaulted the duo and demanded Rs 2 lakh from them.
One of the victims escaped from the spot and filed a complaint at the nearby police station. Following this, the police managed to arrest the accused and rescue the complainant’s friend.
