Malpe: Two minor girls were rescued at Malpe Beach on Friday, October 18. The girls, who are from Haveri, were found wandering on the beach under suspicious circumstances.

Upon questioning by beach patrol staff, Suresh Anchan and Subramanya, it was discovered that the girls had left their homes. The minors revealed that they had come to Udupi from Haveri with the intention of begging to raise money for their education, as they wished to continue their studies but were helpless without their parents.

The patrol staff immediately informed social worker Nityananda Olakaadu, who then reported the matter to the Child Welfare Committee (CWC) and the Child Protection Unit. Following this, he along with City Women’s Police Station PSI Preman Gowda Patil and constable Mahadev, arrived at the beach and safely rescued the girls.

As per the orders of the Child Welfare Committee, the rescued minors have been rehabilitated at the Nittur Girls’ Bala Bhavan. Mahesh from the Child Protection Unit was also present during the rescue operation.
