Two M’luru priests accused of sexual assault on minor

Mangaluru/Mysuru: Three Catholic priests, including two from Mangaluru, have been accused of sexual assault on a minor girl after promising to offer her a nursing job and monetary assistance to her family.
The N R Mohalla police have lodged a case under the POSCO Act against the accused on basis of a complaint filed by the victims’ mother.
It is gathered that Fr Sebastian, a Mysuru priest had offered Rs one lakh monetary assistance to the 16-year-old girls’ mother in order to build a house and had also promised to get her a nursing job. The girl was later brought to Mangaluru and was kept as a maid here. It was during this time that the three priests sexually assaulted the girl states the FIR.
With the aid of a voluntary organization, the victims’ mother lodged a complaint in the high court, which ordered the city police commissioner to register a case against the accused and conduct a probe in the case.
Meanwhile, the three priests are said to have gone absconding. NR Mohala police are on the lookout for the absconding accused.
