Yadgir: Two passengers lost their lives when a private sleeper bus overturned near the Hattiguduru Bridge in Shahapur late Sunday night.

The bus, which had departed from Kalaburagi heading to Bengaluru via Shahapur, lost control and overturned near the Hattiguduru Bridge. Among the 37 passengers on board, two from Kalaburagi succumbed to their injuries.

It is claimed that the driver, unfamiliar with the Yadgir-Kalaburagi-Shahapur route, lost control due to his lack of experience with the road conditions.

The incident occurred around 11:40 PM on Sunday. The bus driver, reportedly attempting to avoid an oncoming vehicle, swerved to the side of the road, resulting in the bus overturning onto the roadside.

The accident falls under the jurisdiction of the Shahapur Rural Police Station, who are investigating the incident.
