Two Raichur cops suspended

Kalaburagi: The district superintendent of police, Dr C B Vedamurthy, suspended two police officers, three days after Chief Minister H.D. Kumaraswamy lost his cool after hundreds of members of Tungabhadra Neeravari Valaya Hangami Karmika Sangha and Hutti Gold Mines Staff and Employees Union blocked his convoy demanding fulfilment of their long pending demands
The police were suspended om Saturday, June 20 for lapses in security at the spot.
Besides suspending the police officers, Dr Vedamurthy said in a statement that cases were registered against 50 of he protesting employees including TUCI state president, R Manasayya and, secretary, J Amaresh, for illegally gathering and blocking the road on June 26 near Yeramarus Circuit House when Kumaraswamy was on his way to Karegudda village.
