Two sisters killed in head-on collision between car, auto

Bantwal: In a tragic incident, two sisters were killed and two others sustained injuries in a head-on collision between a car and an autorickshaw at Sajipa in Bantwal Taluk on Monday, April 8 evening.
Zohra (55) and her younger sister Zainaba (45) are the deceased persons.
It is gathered that Zohra and Zainaba had hailed an auto rickshaw and were on their way to a hospital in Chelur when a car coming from the opposite direction collided head into their auto rickshaw. The car driver Mohammed Siraj and auto-driver Ashraf sustained severe injuries in the accident.
Though locals rushed the four to the hospital, the sisters died on the way.
Eyewitnesses said that the car was speeding and was attempting to over-take another vehicle when its driver lost control and collided into the auto rickshaw.
Police registered a case and undertook investigations.
