Bantwal: Two persons were injured after the two different trucks that they were driving met head on with each other at Artila in Madanthyar on Saturday morning. The injured truck drivers have been shifted to a hospital.

The early morning accident between the two trucks created a traffic block along the national highway that passes through Belthangady lasting for three hours. Hundreds of vehicles were stranded on both sides of the road which connects Mangaluru with Dharmasthala. Many vehicles instead made use of Madanthyar-Kalleri-Guruvayanakere road to bypass the block.

The blocks resulted in vehicles standing stationary to over a distance of a kilometer. Two persons from Belthangady, on their way to catch a flight were hopelessly stranded. However, the police came to their assistance and made way for their early passage.

Punjalakatte police rushed to the spot and dispersed the traffic. Due to the traffic jam, Mani English medium school declared holiday.
