Uchila Dasara 2022: Countdown begins for grand Shobha Yatra

Uchila: Final preparations are in full swing for the immersion of idols of Navadurgas and Goddess Sharada as part of the finale of Uchchila Dasara 2022.
The procession will begin at 3.30 pm today (October 5).
Starting from Uchila, the foot march of the ‘Shobha Yatra’ will proceed up to Yermal-Padubidri- Hejamady Tolagate, and then take a U-turn to reach Uchila and proceed towards Moolur- Koppalangadi and reach Kapu Beach.
A huge Gangarathi, on the lines of Kashi, will be lit at Kapu Beach. Thereafter, the idols of Goddess Sharada and Goddess Navadurga will be immersed in the sea. Fishing boats decked up with electric lights have been prepared for ferrying the idols.
The tableaux participating in the Shobha Yatra have already reached Mahalakshmi Temple and are being given a final touch. Tableaux from various parts of the country including Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Mangaluru, Udupi, Shivamogga, and Uttara Kannada districts have arrived at Uchila.
More than 2 laksh devotees are expected to participate in the festivites, said Nadoja Dr G Shankar told Udayavani.
