Uchila: Chaos as shopkeepers oppose demolition drive for roadworks

Uchila: A fight erupted between locals and highway contractors over the construction of a service road on National Highway 66 at Uchila
On Thursday, highway contractors arrived with JCB to demolish unauthorized shops and buildings for the construction of the service road on National Highway 66
However, the locals and the shop owners opposed the move which led to a fight between the two groups. Due to which the demolition work was delayed
Speaking to the reporters, Shivaprasad Rai, Toll Manager of Navayug Company, said, “Tender for the construction of a service road on the National Highway 66 has been called and construction work will begin soon. For the construction of the service road, illegal shops and buildings in the area must be demolished”
