Udayavani honoured with ‘International Yoga Day Media Award’

New Delhi: Udayavani was today conferred with the Antarashtriya Yoga Diwas Media Samman (AYDMS)-2019 in the category of Print Media – Kannada (Bengaluru Edition) for its valuable contribution in spreading the message of Yoga and commemoration of International Yoga Day. The award was received by the Editor of Bengaluru edition, AV Balakrishna Holla from Union Minister of Information and Broadcasting, Prakash Javadekar, at National Media Centre in New Delhi.
Eleven awards were conferred under the category of Best Media Coverage of Yoga in Newspapers. Eight awards under the category Best Media Coverage of Yoga in Television and 11 awards were conferred under the category Best Media Coverage of Yoga in Radio
Addressing the gathering, Javadekar said, Yoga is the identity of India in the world and it is a great tool for preventive health. He said the Jury went through 132 entries to select the awardees.
“This award is a unique endeavour to recognize efforts of media organisations towards the larger good of society”, said Javadekar during the ceremony.
The concept of Antarashtriya Yoga Diwas Media Samman was introduced first in 2019 to promote, encourage and spread awareness regarding the practice of Yoga.
