Udayavani’s ‘Chinnara Banna-2024’ art contest for children begins successfully

The renowned children’s art competition “Chinnara Banna-2024,” organized by Udayavani in collaboration with the Artist Forum of Udupi, has successfully concluded its first phase across 9 centers in 10 taluks on October 26 and 27. Aimed at students from Grades 1 to 10, the event witnessed a remarkable turnout, with over a thousand students participating at each center.

The second phase of the competition is scheduled to begin on November 2. On that day, taluk-level contests will take place in Moodbidri at K. Amarnath Shetty Sabhangana, Krishisiri Vedike, Vidyagiri, Moodbidri, and Bantwal at Sparsha Kala Mandira, Narayana Guru Circle, B.C. Road, from 9:30 AM to 11:30 AM.

On November 3, taluk-level competitions will be held at Narayana Guru English Medium School, Mulki, from 9:30 AM to 11:30 AM, and at Kanachur Public School, Deralakatte, Ullal, during the same time slot. Additionally, contests will take place at Sri Bhuvanendra College, Karkala, Uchila Shri Mahalaxmi Temple Hall in Kaup, and St. Mary’s English Medium School (CBSE), Kannarpadi, Udupi, from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM. In Mangaluru, the event will be held at Canara High School, Urva, Mangaluru, also from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM.

Competition topics and rules

Students from Grades 1-3 and Grades 4-7 may choose a topic of their choice for the competition, while topics for students in Grades 8-10 will be announced on-site. Contestants are required to register on location, and drawing sheets will be provided. However, students should bring their own drawing materials.

All participants will receive a certificate and a gift hamper, and the first, second, third, and consolation prizes will be awarded in each category. Results and photographs of the winners will be published in Udayavani.
