‘Udayavani’s Christmas Crib Competition unites all communities in coastal K’taka’

Manipal: The prize distribution ceremony of the ‘Christmas Godali 2022′ competition (Christmas Crib) organized by Udayavani newspaper in association with Mandavi Real Estate Developers was held on March 4 at the Udayavani headquarters in Manipal.
Mandavi Real Estate Developers’ MD Jerry Vincent Dias praised ‘Udayavani’ newspaper, calling it the “heartbeat of the people.” Dias said the paper celebrates festivals for all religions and communities and is the “language of people’s minds.” He praised Satish U. Pai, his wife Sandhya S. Pai, the late T. Mohandas Pai, and Gautam Pai for their contributions to the printing industry in Manipal, which has helped elevate it to an international level.
According to Dias, ‘Udayavani’ has become such an integral part of people’s lives in coastal Karnataka that they cannot begin their day without reading it. He commended the newspaper for providing truthful and objective reporting, which he said lights up households across the region. He also praised the fact that Christians, who are primarily educated in English, read ‘Udayavani’ regularly.
The newspaper has a unique approach to uniting communities, and it has become a companion to the people by responding to their joys, sorrows, and difficulties, he said.
The executive chairman of MMNL, T. Satish U. Pai, graciously presented the awards to the victorious participants of the competition and extended his good wishes to them for their future endeavors.
Mr. Vinod Kumar, MD and CEO of Manipal Media Network Limited (MMNL), said that Godali Competition organized by ‘Udayavani’ is a unique way to bring together people of different religions and castes. He added that the competition has seen an increase in participation from the youth in recent years.
Aravinda Navada, the editor of ‘Udayavani,’ proposed the event. The competition’s judges – Denis D’Sa of Thottam Church, Anil D’Souza of Perampalli Church, Regina Fernandes, and Elise D’Souza were present. Vice President of Magazines and Special Initiatives at Udayavani, Ramachandra Mijar, welcomed the attendees, while Vice President of Circulation and Product Marketing Satish Shenoy read out the list of prize winners. Radhakrishna Kodavoor, the head of the marketing department for the Udupi zone, proposed the vote of thanks.
