Udupi: 16 more COVID-19 cases; district’s tally crosses century mark

Udupi: Within 24 hours on May 25, a total of 32 people were reported COVID-19 positive in the district. The total number of infected persons in the district has reached 108.

After a district armed reserve personnel who had worked in the police superintendent’s office was found COVID-19 positive another positive case was reported – an employee at the Zilla Panchayat – was reported COVID-19 positive.

Of the new cases detected on May 25, 13 are Maharashtra returnees. This includes a one-year-old child.

A 65-year-old woman was infected after visiting a containment area.

Till date, in the district, only three COVID-19 positive cases have recovered with one death.
