Udupi: 17 children from Bellary and Koppal working at Malpe’s fishing harbor have been rescued on the morning of Thursday, October 29.
Officers from the Department of Women and Child Development, the District Child Protection Unit, the Department of Labor, the Department of Public Education, the Police Department, Child Helpline and the Nagarika Seva Trust jointly conducted the raid.
District Child Protection Officers Sadananda Nayak, Mahesh Devadiga, Labour Officer Kumar, Labour Supervisor Praveen, Public Education Department Sub Inspector Nagaraj, Social Worker with the Protection Unit Yogesh, Suraksha, Sunanada, Women police staff Savitri, Aruna, Malpe police station staff Savita, Jagadish, Nithyananda Olakadu, Shilpa, Sushmita, Child Helpline staff Kasturi, Triveni, Nethra, Vishwasadhamane Shankarapura Sansthe’s Christopher were involved in the rescue operation.
