Udupi: 22-year-old youth drowns in Papanashini river

Udupi: A 22-year-old boy died from drowning in the Papanashini river on Monday, March 15 afternoon.

The deceased has been identified as Sumanth.

The incident took place when Sumanth had gone to pick seashells on the banks of the rivulet along with two of his uncles. One of the men named Santhosh, who was trying to save Sumanth from drowning was rescued by the locals.

Local police have launched a search operation for Sumanth’s body.
