Udupi: 3 persons arrested for drug peddling

Udupi: The Manipal police on Tuesday arrested 3 persons on allegations of drug peddling.

The accused have been identified as Ayush Raj (21) from Bihar, Vinay Kumar Singh (20) from Andhra Pradesh, and Mayas Chandel (18) from Uttar Pradesh. They were residing at an apartment in Manipal.

Police seized ganja stored in an apartment in Saralebettu in Manipal, where the accused lived.  About 2.1 kilograms of ganja worth about Rs 1.1 lakhs, intended for selling to students and making profits, was seized, police said in a press statement.

A case has been registered at Manipal police station and an investigation is underway.
