Udupi: 45 new COVID-19 cases in district

Udupi: 45 new COVID-19 positive cases were detected in the district on June 8 raising the total tally in the district to 947.

On Sunday, June 7, 13 positive cases were detected in the district.

Most of the new cases since the past two weeks are returnees from Maharashtra. More than 8,000 people from the neighbouring State have arrived in the district.

All 45 cases detected on June 7 are Maharasthra returnees.

With 947 positive cases, Udupi district has now the highest number of positive cases in the State.

A total of 318 people have been discharged after recovery in the district. The remaining 628 people are being treated at designated COVID-19 hospitals.
