A vibrant celebration was held on Friday as devotees gathered at Paryaya Sri Puthige Matha to honor Sri Purandardasa. The occasion was marked by the melodious rendition of Shatakantha Gayana, led by Suguna Sri Bhajana Mandali’s Shanta Hebbar.
Around 600 women, under the joint auspices of Ratna Sanjiva Kala Mandal Saralebettu, immersed themselves in the divine kirtans of Sri Purandara Dasa for over 3 hours.
Pontiff of Paryaya Sri Puthige Matha Sri Sugunendra Theertha Sripada highlighted the profound connection between Sri Krishna and Sri Purandardasa. His holiness emphasized Purandardasa’s depiction and adoration of Udupi’s Sri Krishna and Pranadeva in his kirtans, which also extol Chandreshwar Ananteshwar and Madhva Sarovar.
The junior pontiff of Sri Madhavatheertha Sansthan graced the event with his presence, seeking the divine blessings of Lord Krishna in Udupi. Pariya Puthige Sri accorded him a warm welcome.
In commemoration of Purandara Dasa’s Aradhana Mahotsava, a procession showcasing Sri Purandara Dasa’s portrait works paraded through Rathabeedi, adding to the fervor of the celebrations.
