Udupi: 7 physicians temporarily assigned to women and childrens hospital

Udupi: The Health and Family Welfare Department has ordered immediate appointments of 7 specialist physicians to the Kusamma Shambhu Shetty Haji Abdullah Women and Children’s Hospital.
The BRS Health and Research Institute Private Limited had appealed that managing the hospital will be difficult for them. Hence, the department issued the order on May 5.
The specialists assigned to the hospital are Dr Fatima from Byndoor health centre, obstetrician and gynaecologist Dr Deekshitha from Brahmavara health centre, Dr Venugopal U. from the district hospital, paediatrician Dr Keshav from Karkala health centre, Dr Ganapathi Hegde from Shirva health centre, Dr Ajit Hegde from Brahmavara health centre and anesthesiologist Dr Sandeep from Kota health centre.
The Department officials said they had interviewed physicians for the posts of 6 specialist positions on May 11 for appointment on contract basis under the National Rural Health Mission.
