Udupi: In a shocking incident, an 8-year-old girl was allegedly sexually abused by two relatives. The abuse happened in the Hiriyadka police station limits and continued for two months, sources said.

Police have arrested the two accused, Sandeep Naik and Vignesh Naik. Both were relatives of the father of the victim, sources added.

It is gathered that Sandeep naik is married and was a painter by profession. The other accused also did minor work locally. There were similar accusations against the duo in the past as well, sources said.

The girl’s parents went to work early in the morning and returned home at night. The accused took advantage of this fact and visited the girl when she was alone at home. They posed threats to kill her parents and raped her repeatedly, the mother of the girl said in her complaint. The ordeal went on for two months, it adds.

Meanwhile, the girl has undergone a medical examination. A case under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act act has been registered in Udupi women’s station in this regard.
