Udupi: ‘Agnipath’ Recruitment Rally from July 17 to 25

The recruitment rally of Army under Agnipath Scheme will be held at Udupi’s Ajjarakadu Stadium from July 17 to 25, informed Additional District Collector Veena BN.
Presiding over a meeting convened to review the preparedness for the Agnipath recruitment rally, Veena BN informed that the authorities have made necessar arrangements and candidates will be provided with basic facilities.
Over 6800 candidates, from Bagalkote, Vijayapur, Dharwad, Uttara Kannada, Dakshina Kannada, Udupi, Davangere, Gadag, Haveri, Chikkamagaluru and Shimoga districts have already registered for the recruitment rally. Nearly 1,000 candidates will arrive on a daily basis and provisions for their basic requirements such as drinking water facilities, mobile toilets should be arranged at the stadium. High priority must be accorded to cleanliness, the ADC said while instructing city councilors to check this regularly.
Further she directed police department to make necessary security arrangements around the stadium to prevent obstruction to traffic movement, crowding among the candidates and prevent candidates from sleeping on the roadsides at night.
MESCOM should provide continuous power supply to the stadium. Appropriate precautionary measures should be taken in case of hazardous tree branches and power lines. She directed the officials to provide internet connectivity; education department staff to verify the authenticity of educational documents of candidates; and health department officials to deploy medical staff including ambulance for emergency health care.
The recruitment will be done for the posts of Agniveer General Duty, Agniveer Technical, Agniveer Tradesman, Agniveer Clerk/Store Keeper. Interview letters have been sent to eligible candidates through e-mail, the ADC said.
