Udupi: Ambalapady Overpass construction begins; Traffic diverted to service roads

Udupi: Construction of an overpass at the Ambalapady Bypass, modeled after the Karavali Bypass overpass, has commenced today.

The work will cover a 500-meter stretch towards Balayipade and another 500-meter stretch towards the Karavali Bypass. As a result, the existing highway has been blocked, and traffic has been diverted to service roads.

Engineer Naveen from the National Highways Authority of India stated that all necessary measures have been taken to ensure the safety and security of vehicles. Barricades and signboards have been installed for smooth traffic management.

The overpass will feature two 15-meter-wide lanes on both sides and will also include footpaths for pedestrian movement.

According to sources, the contractors have been instructed to complete the work within one and a half years, barring delays caused by the monsoon season.
