Udupi: Arrivals from COVID-19 hotspots causes drastic increase in sample collection

Udupi: With the arrival of people from COVID-19 hotspots in other districts and States to Udupi district over the past week, there has been a significant increase in the number of sample collection for COVID-19 testing.
Till May 11, 1,668 people’s samples were collected by officials in the district.
Samples of 21 hotspot contacts were collected on May 11, 21 on May 10, 50 on May 9, 45 on May 8, 39 on May 7, 47 on May 6, 58 on May 5, 14 on May 4, 5 on May 3, 1 on May 2 and 2 on May 1.
On Monday, May 11 samples of 41 people were collected. 8 of them with respiratory problems, 12 with flu and 21 with hotspot contacts. 122 people’s reports have tested negative. 151 test reports are awaited which includes the 30 people from the district who had visited First Neuro Hospital in Mangaluru.
