Bengaluru: Former chief minister Siddaramaiah on Friday slammed the police officials who filed a counter-complaint in the case involving assault on the Koraga community by police officials at the Mehandi function.

Police constable Jayarama Naika filed a complaint against the groom and his family members accusing them of threatening the police officials with wooden logs.

Taking to Twitter, Siddaramaiah said, “It is indeed shameful that the police have now filed a complaint against the groom’s family. The constable must immediately withdraw the complaint he has filed against them and suitable action should be taken against the policemen.”

” How did minister Kota Srinivas Poojary not know about the counter complaint? Is he an inefficient Minister?  BJP says that all Hindus are one, but are Koragas included? he questioned.

He further said, ” BJP’s hidden agenda is to not uplift the Dalit community and let them remain as ‘untouchables’ in the society. Why is Shobha Karandlaje silent over the issue?”
