Udupi: Bar owner killed, wife critical in fire incident at their residence

Udupi: A fire broke out at a residence in the city, resulting in the death of the bar owner and serious injuries to his wife on the morning of July 15 (Monday).

The incident occurred at the home of the owners of Shetty Bar & Restaurant in Ambalpady.

The bar owner, Ramananda Shetty (52) succumbed at a hospital in Manipal, while his wife, Ashwini, has been critically injured in the inferno.

Firefighters have arrived at the scene and carried out rescue operations.

It is reported that the couple’s two children escaped from danger as they were on the upper floor of the house. The house suffered extensive damage in the blaze.
