Udupi: Borders sealed; bus operations halted

Udupi: Following the Deputy Commissioner (DC) G Jagadeesha’s order to seal down all the 10 district borders, halt the movement of private and KSRTC buses for 14 days on Wednesday, the authorities have implemented the order in the district.

The city bus stand, service, and KSRTC bus stands were empty without any buses on Thursday, July 16.

All the shops, government offices were open as usual. It is also observed that people have been traveling to the city in private vehicles.

The district authorities have set up check-posts and sealed the main district borders. goods vehicles and vehicles that were entering for emergency purposes were allowed to enter or exit the district.
