Udupi: CMC gets nod from DMA to newly name 6 circles in city

Udupi: In relation to the proposal for a name change of six circles in the city, the Directorate of Municipal Administration (DMC) has approved and submitted the same to the Udupi City Municipal Council (CMC).

As per the proposal, the circle at Santekatte Kalyanpur Road Junction will be named “Koti Chennaya Circle”. Brahmagiri Dodda Circle will be named “Oscar Fernandes Circle”, Bananje Circle – “Narayan Guru Circle”, Kalsanka Circle – “Madhwacharya Circle”, Diana Circle – “Vadiraja Circle”, and circle on the way from Parkala to Kodange and Kodange to Saralebettu will be named as “Sri Ram Circle”

Speaking to the media, the Udupi legislator said that the Udupi CMC had adopted the resolution in newly naming the circles at the request of the people. Based on this, the state government has issued a circular on the same as per Section 211 of the Karnataka Municipalities Act 1964.
