Udupi: In a review meeting held at the Udupi zilla panchayat on Thursday, the Secretary of the State’s Animal Husbandry and Fisheries Department, P Manivannan, said that sea ambulances will be deployed at the coasts for rescuing and providing medical aid to fishermen at sea.
Captain Manivannan said that sea ambulances were being demanded by the fishing community for a time long and will arrive soon.
Additionally, he instructed officials present in the meeting to check and stop all illegal methods employed in fishing and to ensure that COVID-19 guidelines are complied with at all fishing harbours.

He also asked the Animal Husbandry Department to identify places in the district for opening gaushalas.
Deputy Commissioner G Jagadeesha, Zilla panchayat Chief Executive Officer Y Naveen Bhat, Superintendent of Police N Vishnuvardhan, Coastal Security Police SP R Chethan and others were present in the meeting.
