Udupi: The presence of mind shown by a friend and equally swift action by the police reportedly saved a man from killing himself on Thursday, June 2.
A man, allegedly depressed due to family issues, slit his wrist in a bid to end his life. Thereafter, he called his friend Aditya in Mangaluru and told him about what he had done.
Aditya, according to reports, immediately informed the Magaluru police control room about the incident. Mangaluru police, in turn, alerted their Udupi counterparts.
Udupi police rushed to the said lodge and rescued the youth who was reportedly found in a semi-conscious state. The cops rushed him to a hospital for treatment and helped save his life. He is said to be out of danger.
Suicide is preventable. If you get any such thoughts, consult or seek expert help.
