Udupi deputy commissioner Hephsiba takes charge

Udupi: Hephsiba Rani Korlapati took charge as the deputy commissioner (DC) of Udupi on Thursday, February 7. She replaces the previous DC Priyanka Mary Francis, who has been transferred and posted as director, department of Tourism, Bengaluru.
Previously, Hephsiba was serving as the managing director of the Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV), Hubballi-Dharwad.
Priyanka Mary Francis who took many initiatives to promote tourism in the district hit the headlines in the state when she personally conducted midnight raids on illegal sand mining sites in Udupi district. He convoy was also assaulted by illegal sand contractors which resulted in several cases being booked against them.
