Udupi dist to witness ‘special’ wedding event on Oct 28: Report

Udupi: In a few days from now the district will witness a unique wedding event in which the Udupi district administration and Women and Child Welfare Department will be the bride’s family.
A 25-year-old orphan girl, residing in Nittur’s Mahila Nilaya falling under the Women and Child Welfare Department, will be tying the knot with a 29-year-old boy.
As per the reports, the boy had kept forth the proposal of getting married. Based on this, the district administration directed the concerned officers to inquire about the boy’s background (boy’s conduct and family whereabouts). After analysing the information received, Udupi Deputy Commissioner Kurma Rao, who is also the chairperson of the State Mahila Nilaya core committee granted permission for the marriage.
The director of the State Women and Child Welfare Department too granted permission.
As per the wedding invitation being printed, the marriage will be held on Friday, October 28 at an auspicious muhurtam.
Legislators, the district in charge minister, and other dignitaries are invited to the event.
In relation to the arrangement for the wedding event, the State Women and Child Welfare Department has sanctioned Rs. 5000 towards the event management. An amount of Rs. 15000 has been deposited in the government account in the name of the bride.
Jyeshta Developers will be donating Mangalsutra and saree. President of the City Municipal Corporation Sumitra Nayak will be providing cloth material.
Food is arranged from Ambalpadi Temple.
Currently, the preparations for the wedding event are in full swing.
