Udupi: Election officials seize car

Reason: Use of ‘Chowkidar Sher Hai’ sticker

Udupi: In an incident that occurred in Karkala, election officials have registered a case against a person and seized his car on he charges of using ‘Chowkidar Sher Hai’ sticker in violation of the rule and for preventing election officials from carrying out their duties.

Election officials were carrying out inspection at Ananthashaya in Karkala on Friday morning when a car arrived with the sticker ‘Chowkidar Sher Hai’ stuck on its rear windshield. The officials directed the person to remove this sticker.

However, the driver of the car refused to do so and instead started questioning the officials with a raised voice. No matter how the officials requested the driver to remove the sticker, the driver remained adamant.

Therefore the election officials seized the car and registered a case against the car driver at Karkala town police station on the charges of using a sticker without permission and preventing election officials from carrying out their duties.
