Udupi: Ex-Chairman and MD of Andhra Bank TJA Ganiga passes away

Udupi: Former Chairman and Managing Director of Andhra Bank, Thenkanidiyur Janardhan Anantha Ganiga, passed away on July 10 at his residence in Kinnimulki. He was 84.

Popularly known as TJA Ganiga, he is survived by his wife and daughter Sandhya.

TJA Ganiga, who joined Syndicate Bank as an employee recruited by TA Pai. Ganiga served for nearly 35 years at Syndicate Bank at various levels. Ganiga emerged as a successful banker at the New Delhi branch and later served as General Manager at the Manipal headquarters.

During this time he was active in almost all the cultural organizations of Udupi and Manipal.

Ganiga, who was promoted as the Executive Director of Andhra Bank, later became the Chairman and Managing Director. During his tenure, he contributed to the all-round development of Andhra Bank.

He also served as the president of BSRB South Zone. After retirement, he lived a leisurely life in Kinnimulki.
