Udupi: A case has been registered at the Udupi Town Police Station about a fake Aadhaar card being submitted in court during a bail plea for an accused in a criminal case.
The incident relates to a crime registered at Kollur Police Station, which is currently under trial at the Additional District and Sessions Court, FTSC-1. On December 7, during the hearing, Ibrahim M.I. and A.K. Hameed appeared before the court to submit a bail plea on behalf of the accused. They presented an Aadhaar card as part of the documentation.
Upon review, it was found that the Aadhaar card presented in court did not match previously submitted Aadhaar cards from the same case in other courts. Investigations revealed that the card was forged with the intent to deceive the judiciary.
Based on a complaint filed by Abbas S., the Chief Administrative Officer of the District Court, a case has been registered, and further investigation is underway.
