Udupi: Four interstate thieves arrested

Udupi: Shirva Police officials arrested four notorious interstate thieves and cracked a string of jewelry theft cases.

The arrested accused have been identified as Shanabella B. (45), Mohammad Ali (32), Ashur Ali (32) and Ganesh Kumar of Dindigal district of Tamil Nadu.

It is said that on June 6, the accused entered a jewelry shop in the guise of purchasing gold and took away 28.79 grams worth Rs 1.49 lakhs.

Shirva police officials registered a case. During the investigation, cops found that the accused were inter-state thieves and a case against them has been registered at Moodbidri police station.

They tracked the location of the accused using Shanabella’s mobile number. They discovered that the accused were staying in a lodge at Ullal and raided the premises.

All four of the accused were arrested.

Police officials recovered a motorbike, Rs. 1,49,000 worth of gold bullion weighing 28.882 grams and 26 grams of gold bullion worth Rs 1,17,000 from the accused.
