Udupi: Free registration on NFDP portal for fishermen under PM-MKSSY

Team Udayavani, Nov 15, 2024, 2:44 PM IST

To bring the informal fishing sector into an organized framework, the Central Government has introduced a provision for fishermen and related stakeholders to register on the National Fisheries Digital Platform under the PM Matsya Kisan Samridhi Sah-Yojana (PM-MKSSY), a sub-scheme of Pradhan Mantri Matsya Sampda Yojana (PMMSY).

The registration is free and can be done directly on the portal, through fisheries cooperative societies, or Common Service Centers (CSCs).

The Department of Fisheries has stated that any cooperative societies or CSCs charging extra fees for registration on the portal will face legal action, as directed by the Assistant Directors of Fisheries in Udupi, Kundapura, and Karkala. This initiative is intended to support and streamline services for all involved in the fisheries sector.
