Udupi: Friday evening rain cools air; heavy traffic jam on city roads

Udupi: Many parts of the city were hit by torrential rains with thunder and lightning on Friday evening.

Amid the rain, traffic snarls on city roads due to the Friday evening rush and the Deepavali weekend holidays frustrated the motorists.

It poured heavily in Udupi, Malpe, Parkala, and Manipal late Thursday night and Friday night. There was a power cut in many places.

Lightning struck and damaged a house in Karkala.

In Dakshina Kannada, heavy thunder and rain were seen in the night hours cooling temperatures and giving a respite from sweltering heat.
