Udupi: Guidelines issued for travel to other districts and States

Mangaluru/Udupi: The district administration has declared guidelines for those traveling from Dakshina Kannada and Udupi districts to other States and districts and those traveling to the twin districts from other districts and States.

Those traveling from the twin districts to other States can log in and register at sevasindhu.karnataka.gov.in.

Those who cannot apply online can visit panchayats, town panchayats, municipal council, taluk offices, municipa ward offices, Mangalore One and register there.

Applications will be reviewed at the state level and approved only if the destination State approves.

Travel arrangements will be made for approved applicants by the nodal officer of the State Government. Passengers will then have to buy the travel tickets.

Medical screening will be conducted before the travel commences.

Approved passengers should carry either their driving license/passport/voter ID card/Aadhaar card/PAN card.

For travelling to other districts of the State from the twin districts, applications should be filed at the offices of the Assistant Police Commissioners in Mangaluru city limits and nearby police stations for those outside the city’s limits.

Travel permits will be issued either by the Office of the Commissioner of Police, Superintendent of Police or Deputy Commissioner of Police.

Travel will be allowed only for those who do not show any COVID-19 symptoms. Approved travelers must wear masks and gloves and should take all the precautionary measures as per the guidelines of the Central and State Government.

All quarantine related provisions in thedestination districts must be complied with. There will be no stops during the travel to the destination district.

District Deputy Commissioner Sindhu B Rupesh has stated that if the issued passes are misused then legal actions will be taken. She added that those wanting to travel to the district have to follow the same procedure to obtain travel passes.
