Udupi: Honest auto driver returns bag containing Rs 50,000 to its owner

Udupi:An honest auto-rickshaw driver has been hailed after he returned a bag containing Rs 50,000 to a woman passenger who had forgotten the same while alighting from the rickshaw.

On Wednesday morning, the woman had hailed an autorickshaw from Kurkali to Katapadi junction and reportedly forgot the bag containing the cash in the auto.

After dropping off the woman passenger, the auto rickshaw driver, identified as Jay Shetty proceeded towards the auto stand near Karthik estate here. Upon noticing the bag left behind in his auto, Jay opened it and found that it contained around Rs 50,000 cash.

He immediately went to the spot where he had dropped the woman, contacted her, and returned the bag containing the money.

His act of honesty has been lauded by the woman as well as the general public.
