Udupi: A woman who allegedly tried to jump into the sea for taking her own life, was rescued by lifeguards at Malpe beach on Sunday, June 26.
Since Friday, the seas were rough to due high winds and the lifeguards were on alert not to let anyone venture into the deep end.
The woman, from Pune, had arrived at the beach with her son in tow at around 5 PM on Sunday. She let her son on the beach and went ahead towards the deep end of the beach. Though she was instructed to return, she did not comply and went further in.
One of the lifeguards at the beach took action and managed to bring her back to the shore. She was calmed down and later handed over to the Malpe police for further action.
