Udupi: Man arrested for cash, gold theft in broad daylight

Udupi: A 27-year-old man has been arrested by the city police for stealing cash and golden ornaments in broad daylight.

The arrested has been identified as Muttappa Basappa Mavarani (27), a native of Bagalkot.

Mavarani had stolen Rs 25 lakh worth of goods including gold and cash on July 19 from the house of lawyer Vani V Rao situated on the road behind the court.

During the arrest, the police recovered gold worth Rs 10 lac and cash of Rs 38,500 from him. The court has sent

The accused has been set to 15 days of judicial custody by the court.
