Udupi: Man steals bag from scooter; misuses cheque, defrauds victim of Rs 10 lakh

Udupi: Police officials have filed a case against a man for stealing a bag from a scooter which contained  cheque book of SBI bank and defrauding the victim to the tune of Rs 10 lac.

Complainant Udaya Kumar (48), resident of Vasadashami Nilaya near Kallianpur has accused Gopala Amin (55), resident of Brahmavar of defrauding him.

It is said that Gopala Amin is from Adarsh Nagar, Mysuru. He reportedly stole a bag from Kumar’s scooter which contained cheque book of SBI Kallianpur branch and bonds of Star Plus company.

He misused the cheques by withdrawing Rs 10 lac from the account of the complainant.
