Udupi: A massive tumor weighing 8kg, that had been growing on a woman’s shoulder for nearly 32 years, was surgically removed at the government hospital in Udupi.
The tumor was growing on the right shoulder of the patient, Pushpa (71), a resident of Karkala.
On June 26, a team of surgeons at the Ajjarkad District Hospital surgically removed the growing mass after a three-hour-long surgery.
The surgery was led by Dr. Sujith, a general surgeon at the hospital, with the assistance of anesthesiologists Dr. Umesh Upadhyay and Dr. Vishwanath Shetty, and experienced nursing staff. The patient is currently recovering well.
