Udupi MLA Yashpal Suvarna has appealed to Chief Minister Siddaramaiah to install a statue of Brahmasree Narayana Guru in front of the Vidhana Soudha.

Brahmasree Narayana Guru, a revered figure known for his message of “one caste, one religion, one God,” championed social equality by opposing caste and religious discrimination. His teachings continue to be a timeless ideal for all.

The MLA highlighted that Brahmasree Narayana Guru’s message of social advancement through education, employment, and organization, and his efforts to combat superstition as the voice of marginalized communities, should be introduced to contemporary society. He urged the state government to honor this great philosopher by installing his statue alongside other distinguished philosophical figures at the Vidhana Soudha.
