Udupi/M’luru: Timely intervention of journos reunites missing girl with family

Udupi: Timely intervention of a group of journalists helped reunite a girl with her parents in Udupi here on Thursday night.

Reportedly the journalists — Mohan Kuthar, Shashi Bellayaru, Girish, and Sandesh Shetty — noticed a man who was seeking public help to locate his daughter. A woman who had seen the girl board a Bagalkot-bound KSRTC bus relayed this information.

The journalists showed presence of mind by contacting Udupi superintendent of police (SP) Dr Arun K as well as station controller at the Udupi KSRTC bus stand and providing them with details of the missing girl.

Following this SP Dr Arun K. contacted KSRTC control room and directed them to assist in tracing the girl on the Bagalkot-bound bus.

The authorities managed to find the girl at the KSRTC bus stand in Udupi. She was later reunited with her family.

Udupi police lauded the efforts of the journalists’ to ensure the missing girl’s safety.
