Udupi: Prashanth Mogaveera, the prime accused in the death of Rakshita Nayak, has been remanded into police custody for 3 days.
After interrogating Prashanth for almost a week the police here produced him before the district court which remanded him into their custody.
During the interrogation, the police found out that Prashanth was living with Rakshita in a rented accommodation at Ambagilu. He had hidden from her the fact that he was already married.
It was also reported that he has confessed to the police that he used to harass her even in front of his friends. On October 24, Prashanth had brought Rakshita to the Gandhi hospital here in a semi-conscious state and conspicuously left the hospital. She died immediately after at the hospital. He went missing for days and had also kept his mobile phone switched off.
