The inauguration of the new building of the Shri Dharmasthala Manjunatheshwara Ayurveda College and Research Center will take place on January 31 at 11 AM, as announced by the Principal, Dr. Mamatha K.V.
Speaking at a press conference, she mentioned that the Ayurveda Research Center was established in 1958 by like-minded individuals. The college is spread across 21 acres, and the new, well-equipped building has been constructed at a cost of around Rs. 25 crore on the same site as the old building. The new building includes 7 classrooms, specialized labs for each department, a skill lab, 9 postgraduate departments, a museum, laboratory, and modern equipment.
The building will be inaugurated by Mantralaya seer Shri Subudhendra Teertha Swamiji, with the lighting of the lamp by Shri Vishwaprassanna Tirtha Swamiji of the Pejavar Matha. The ceremony will be presided over by Dr. D. Veerendra Heggade, President of the Shri Dharmasthala Educational Institutions. Prominent guests include Ministers Lakshmi Hebbalkar, Dinesh Gundurao, Member of Parliament Kota Srinivasa Poojari and others
The Udupi SDM Ayurveda College has achieved remarkable success, ranking second nationwide and first in the state in the National Commission For Indian System Of Medicine (NCISM), Medical Assessment and Rating Board for Indian Medical Systems (MARBISM) and the Quality Council of India (QCI) rankings. Additionally, the college is celebrating the completion of 25 years of its postgraduate program. The college has its own Ayurveda forest and is expanding the medicinal plant garden, with over 1,000 medicinal plants being cultivated.
