Udupi: New COVID-19 positive is pregnant woman

Udupi: A pregnant woman who arrived from Mumbai is the sole COVID-19 positive case reported from the district on May 18.

District’s Deputy Commissioner G Jagadeesha stated that the woman had arrived in the district on May 12 in a bus from Mumbai. She is seven months pregnant and after being confirmed as COVID-19 positive is currently placed in isolation along with her husband.

Jagadeesh further added that the bus she was travelling in had 25 other travellers. All have been tracked and are under supervision.

In the past 24 hours on May 18, 99 positive cases have been confirmed in the State. The total number of COVID-19 positive in the State has increased to 1246.
