Police have detained nine Bangladeshi nationals near the Vadabandeshwara bus stand in Malpe, Udupi.

The individuals had reportedly secured jobs as fishing laborers in the area. The investigation began following the detention of Muhammad Manik at the Mangaluru International Airport while attempting to travel to Dubai.

Upon questioning, Manik provided information about others residing illegally in Malpe.

Authorities identified him as belonging to Manik Chowk, Rajshahi, Bangladesh. Further investigations led to the arrest of Hakim Ali, Sujon, Ismail, Kareem, Salam, Rajikul, Muhammad Sojib, Kajol, and Usman. It was discovered that they had created fake identity documents, including Aadhaar cards, to stay and work in the area.

The police have also identified Usman as the person responsible for illegally arranging jobs for the detained individuals. The Malpe police are continuing their investigation into the matter.
