Udupi: Heavy overnight rainfall has caused significant flooding near Bailakere Adamaru Mutt, resulting in the evacuation of residents.
In the early morning hours, four houses were inundated with water due to the heavy rains. Fire brigade personnel promptly arrived on the scene and successfully rescued 14 residents from the affected homes.
The evacuees have been provided temporary accommodation in a private hotel in Sri Krishna Math’s parking area.
Both Udupi and Dakshina Kannada districts have been experiencing intense rainfall over the past two days. Due to the severe weather, Anganwadi centers and primary schools in Dakshina Kannada district have been closed.
